The role:

This role is an entry level public relations position that works closely with all consultants to fulfil client needs. Your job is to learn all aspects of a modern career in PR and communications, helping with the smooth running of the business and providing rock solid support across selected client accounts and to all members of the consultancy team.

Throughout your work you will also be progressing towards a Level 4 higher apprenticeship in PR (foundation degree equivalent). This is a nationally recognised qualification route. This will involve ‘on the job’ training, visits from an assessor to the workplace, an internal mentor to provide ongoing guidance, online learning and creating a portfolio of evidence.

You will be working towards an end-point-assessment which will determine if you have the knowledge, skills, and behaviours listed in the PR & Communications Assistant Standard. In the process, you will develop a wide understanding of PR and the impact it has on businesses.

What matters most in this role:

  • Successful, timely completion of apprenticeship and attitude to learning
  • Reliability, professionalism and diligence, including when working at home (if required), when working independently or as part of a team
  • Quality of writing and other content
  • Quality of teamwork and proactive account support

You are expected to pursue all training and learning opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge, as well as taking opportunities to shadow and/or help more senior colleagues at client meetings and events. And you are responsible for actively using everything you learn, sharing knowledge gained in the apprenticeship in a way that adds value to LMC and its clients.

Writing and content, PR and digital comms – You are responsible for developing your writing and content creation skills across a wide range of materials typically used within a PR campaign and learning how to successfully deal with journalists and media requests. You are also expected to develop an understanding of digital communications, including how SEO works and how it can be applied to your work, and of effective PR evaluation techniques.

Contribution to client success – Your ideas and creativity are hugely valued. You are expected to contribute to their success by being a helpful and reliable team member, offering your ideas and insights and proactively supporting other consultants with research and creative suggestions for client campaigns.

Contribution to LMC growth – We are growing and developing fast. So you share responsibility with all members of the team for excellent customer service, running the business as efficiently and sustainably as possible.
